Barristers Keepe is a small neighborhood in the City of Fairfax, Virginia consisting of 40 homes. It is a gated community; you need to key in a code to enter the neighborhood. The lot sizes are very small 0.1 acre and less. The houses are between 2566 and 2788 square feet and are very close together. The neighborhood sits on a small piece of land between Pickett Road and the Army Navy Country Club. Homes in the back of the neighborhood look out to the golf course, but there is no direct access to the course. The houses were built between 1996 and 1999 by Van Metre Homes.
Two homes have sold in Barristers Keepe in the last year (it’s a small neighborhood so this numbers isn’t surprisingly small). They sold for $673,000 and $677,000, respectively (note: prices are on a net basis, meaning I subtract the buyer’s closing costs that were paid by the seller from all prices).

An Interview with a resident of Barristers Keepe
Claudia Long, a resident of Barristers Keepe, was kind enough to answer a few questions for me about the neighborhood so that you can get an “insiders perspective” on the neighborhood. Her answeres are in red below.
What do you like best about living in your neighborhood?
I like the privacy, that being in gated small community affords. I also the the quiet. Its good knowing several of the familes that live here. I also enjoy walking the trails in the neigbhorhoods across Pickett Rd and I specicially enjoy the beautiful gardens that most of the homeowners tend, the variety of flowers and scrubs each spring and summer are delightful.
Is there anything about your neighborhood that would keep you from recommending it to a friend?
One of the concerns for families is there is not alot of play area. There is the park in the middle of all the homes, put it is more for strolling ,sitting, and talking. Dogs must be on a leash at all times when outside.
What places or activities bring people together in your neighborhood?
Several times a year socials are held in the neighborhood common area park. Familes bring something to share and we have a cook out. In December, everyone meets for a Christmas diner at a local restaurant.
