City Manager Robert Sisson has proposed to the City Council that they raise the rate for Property taxes from the current $o.72 per $100 of value to $0.835, an increase of about 16% on the rate. This comes after the assessments on most homes went down in the latest round of reassessments. The amount would actually you pay is the new rate multiplied by your new assessment.

The City Counsel will have to pass legislation if the City Manager’s recommendations are to be implemented.
